Wines

Tamâioasa româneasca

Tamâioasa româneasca
As natural sweet wine, it is the emblem of the Pietroasa Wine Center, which has been awarded many times in national and international competitions. The young wine has a complex and persistent aroma of lime flowers, field flowers, basil, rose and hay. By maturing to a wooden pot, the color becomes golden; then, in years, he got the old gold patina. Aroma also changes its character: it suggests the honey odor of honey, raisins and almonds. Associated with walnuts, almonds or traditional sweets, the Romanian Taffy wine gives noble meals. Through the aromatic bouquet, flesh and lust, this wine is a joy of the soul.

Busuioacă de Bohotin

Busuioacă de Bohotin
It is an autochthonous variety that gives special wines only in a few areas: Pietroasa is one of them. Typical wines are characterized by three unobtrusive attributes: color, flavor and characteristic taste. The color of the young wine is bright red, to the rosy, with the shades of roses; after 1-2 years of maturation is pale but shiny, with rust-amber shades, tomate. Flavors are unmistakable, of rose, basil, and incense. The taste is complex, well structured. In addition to the sweet-sour equilibrium, the tannin-like tactile sensation interferes, which is found more than in other wines of the same size.

Fetească regală

Fetească regală
It is the most cultivated native variety in our country, due to its productive qualities, but also to the quality of its wines. It is also cultivated with good results at Pietroasa. The wines here, while copying the specifics of the area through their fullness and taste, are lighter and tasteful, with a specific flavor that gives them a touch of rusticity. In the first year, when they are still young, characteristic is the freshness and aroma of apple whites. By keeping, especially the wines from the harvests obtained in the favorable years, it gets flavors that remind of the hives and the smell of beeswax.

Riesling italian

Riesling italian
It is the variety that gives Pietroasa the resistance wine from the range of dry white. The young wine is white-green, neutral, refreshing and pleasant, more balanced than other areas. Through a slight maturation, the wine offers the consumer a pleasant, challenging bouquet with mineral nuances and sensory features that are specific to him. Extraction, the “stone character,” assures Riesling from Pietroasa, distinction and sobriety between dry white wines.

Fetească neagră

Fetească neagră
The native ancestral variety, now cultivated in Pietroasa in an ecological system, gives strong wines with much force and personality. In their youth, the wines have intense porphyry color, violet perfume and red fruit flavor, blackberries and prunes. The taste is balanced, slightly astringent, covered by the strength and lust of wine. Ripped in the barrel, the color gets ruby tones, the aromas are complex with vanilla, chocolate and cloves. The taste becomes more round, more velvety.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon
At Pietroasa it offers unique wines by color and personality. In his youth, the wine is intense red ruby, of a specific robustness and rusticity, with tanninous taste of grapes and crushed bunches. By maturing and aging, the color evolves in red-garnet, the flavor becomes more discreet and complex (spice), and the taste becomes balanced, strong, but dominated by the rich extract and the high tannin content.

Merlot

Merlot
It is a predominant variety in the range of red wines. The wine is dry, red-ruby red, bright. It can also be eaten a few months after getting it. However, it is preferable to ripen in wooden pots even for a short period of time. Thus, the wine becomes more friendly, warm, generous, full, velvety, with a complex aroma of well-baked forest fruits.

Băbească neagră

Legendary variety, successfully cultivated since the establishment of “Pietroasa Experimental Vine”. Wine is slim, fruitful, special. When young, the color is purple-raspbery with purple tones, the aromas are strong, persistent, slightly spiced, with red berries of the forest. The taste is balanced, sour, refreshing, pleasant, refreshing. Ripped, wine gets nobility and personality. The color opens, becomes brighter, with warm shades, amber. Flavors complex, become more appealing. Tastefully, the wine is pleasant, friendly.

Fetească albă

Known as the variety whose acidity fidelity records ecoclimatic features, this wine has a technological grape harvesting acidity that in some years requires correction. Carefully fermented with low temperature, Fetească Albă wine can develop a secondary fermentation flavor that gives the wine a remarkable flavor. This flavor, characteristic of the blooming vine, as well as the personality exhibited by finesse, persistence and gustatory harmony propel it as dry wine, with a place well represented in the range of dry wines.

Grasă de Cotnari

This variety is present in two areas of high oenoclimatic favor, Cotnari and Pietroasa, where it produces natural semi-natural wines and in the years of “noble rot”, even exceptional wines. At Pietroasa, this wine has found a second “cottage” at least as valuable as the one at Cotnari, where it has acquired a fame that threatens to surpass that of its original place. The wine is full, but fine, ample, corpulent, honest. Intense character and unmistakable taste-olfactory taste are elements that define it as high-quality wine. The yellow-gold or amber color, obtained by aging, make Grasă wine a pearl of Romanian wines. Very special, sweet wine of the oxidative type, of exceptional years, wine that has many gold medals won in reputed national or international competitions.
