The wine cellar of Pietroasa has long functioned as one of the best endowed in the country, benefiting, since 1940, from a vinification center equipped with modern equipment imported from Italy.

The wine collection that began at that time is currently about 100,000 bottles, the oldest of the 40’s of the 20th century. They are herbal wines, wines of inestimable value.

The Wine Cellar also carries on its racks wines from the 50s, 60s, 70s of the last century, wines of exceptional years, coming out of the hand of an exceptional oenologist. They bear the unmistakable mark of the oenologist MIHAI MACICI who either directly involved or watched their realization. They are unrivaled wines, as was the oenological competence.

The wines of Pietroasa continued to increase their fame, thanks to the artisan oenologist Gheorghe Vărăticeanu. Grasa de Pietroasa, Tămâioasa românească, Riesling or Feteasca regală bear in the wine bottles that continue to live and increase its value, the footprint of this “artist engineer” who left too soon. During the 36 years of uninterrupted realization, he also described himself as an authorized winegrower, collectible wines with an unequaled talent (as shown in the table below).

These outstanding oenologists who worked at Pietroasa were seated by the sophomore, thanks to his modesty, the “Shadow Beggar”, Didi Achim, a vastly experienced technologist.
